Martin’s real estate career began in 1979, serving international investors in US real estate from London and Chicago, and from 1986 in Florida. In 1988 he established Forster Commercial Real Estate, Inc., and in 2001, Cypress Partners, Inc. In 2003 he joined the National Retail Group of Marcus & Millichap in Orlando, to specialize in unanchored retail property from 8,000 – 80,000 s.f. In 2003 he co-founded The Pocklington, Pocklington & Forster Group, which moved to GVA Advantis in 2004 and to Cushman & Wakefield in 2007.
Since 1993 he has held the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member designation of the CCIM Institute. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate investment analysis, valuation, brokerage, leasing and asset management. A editorial contributor to real estate publications, including the CCIM Institute’s Commercial Investment Real Estate, The Florida Real Estate Journal and Southeast Real Estate Business, he is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). In 2005 Martin was named by CoStar Group as one of Orlando’s Power Brokers.
Educated at private schools in England, he has lived in England, Singapore and Hong Kong, Geneva and Dubai before immigrating to the United States in 1986. He is married with 3 children.
